How to Register a .CK Domain Name
I was looking into registering a .ck domain name, which are controlled by the Cook Islands. Oyster Telecom is the official registrar for .ck and provides the following options for registering:
The first step is to choose a name that is available for registration. Once you have chosen your domain name, you will need to complete a Domain Name Registration form, which can be obtained from Oyster by:
- Sending an e-mail to Oyster at info@oyster.net.ck with your fax number and the Domain Name you want to register.
- Calling one of our Sales & Service staff members on 123 from within Rarotonga, or on 28114 from elsewhere within the Cook Islands. The Sales & Service fax number is 21123. The International Dialling Country Code for the Cook Islands is 682.
- Coming to our Customer Services area at the Telecom Centre in Avarua, Rarotonga.
The first option is comically inconvenient. Plus, I don’t have a fax machine. I can’t figure out the second option. And the third… well… I don’t feel like traveling during the holidays.
