Gawker’s Schadenfreude, Codified
I just stumbled across an internal (but publicly accessible [update: not any more]) Gawker Google Doc that describes video clips that Gawker wants its interns to be “on the lookout for.”
Some of these, like the Price is Right one, have already hit the web. But if a video is posted in an offshoot forest that gets negligible traffic, is anyone around to hear it fall? (Or something like that.)
Enjoy:
- Clips of people freaking the fuck out on The Price Is Right.
- Awful things happening to children on The Today Show
- Horrible, awful, violent movie deaths for a sweet Halloween post.
- Stippers falling off stripper poles.
- Sexual comments Joy Behar makes on The View.
- Brian Kilmeade misreading the teleprompter, or stuttering over his lines, or saying something homoerotic.
- CNN taking shots at Fox News/Fox News doing the same to CNN
- Product Placement in any scripted/reality show (Watch for this when you’re at home watching TV)
- Awkward pauses during interviews via satellite. (Anchor saying ‘are you there?’ Long pauses, ‘Hello?’ etc.)
- Egregious mispronunciation of Mahmoud Amadinejad.
- Mika Brzezinkski, co-host of “Morning Joe” getting picked on by co-hosts, specifically Joe.
- Mika Brzezinkski always talking about the money$$$.
- Bad dancing on ellen (ex kate walsh sucks at dancing)
- People from the city talking to people from the hills (setting up convos between them)
- Gay moments between/featuring chuck and nate and/or dan from GG
- Martha Stewart messing up a craft and/or insinuating she’s going to kill a staff member for messing up the craft preparation
- Jimmy Fallon not being able to hold in laughter on his show like he did on SNL.
- Youtube video of absolutely terrible singers singing in their home/in front of computers.
- Covers of folded magazines for an end of the year ‘In Memoriam.’
